Viewpoint School is currently seeking a Collaborative Pianist for 6th-12th grade choir and musical theater students. Duties include providing piano accompaniment for music students during choir rehearsals and after school musical theater rehearsals. Viewpoint School is currently seeking a Director of Special Events for Advancement. Under the supervision of the Assistant Head of School for External Affairs, the Director of Special Events is responsible for the planning and implementation of all special events organized by the external affairs office. This individual is responsible for creating and leading a program of special events and donor relations programs and oversees all event fundraising activities. Events range from small intimate dinners to stewardship events, and a large-scale ticketed benefit and auction. The Director is a key member of the team and is involved with all fundraising-related activities. Possible hybrid work schedule.

Primary Functions:  

• Implement a comprehensive special events fundraising strategy; Develop and maintain an annual calendar of Viewpoint Fund, Cultivation, and Benefit events; Select events include the annual benefit, new parent cultivations events, grandparent’s day, donor recognition events, and campaign events; Work with team and volunteer leadership to conceptualize events, including the purpose, targeted audience, key themes, location, and timeline.  
• Along with the Assistant Head of School for External Affairs, brief Viewpoint administrators, trustees, and others on their roles in events, including, if necessary, a briefing packet (guest list, profiles, program, script, etc.) about the event with adequate lead-time.
• Design and manage all event logistics including catering, venue, transportation, signage, audio/visual, invitation lists, printed and e-invitations, programs, and presentation materials; serve as the office’s liaison with the School’s operations staff; Partner with Chief Marketing Officer on marketing, branding strategy, content creation, and outreach strategy for all advancement events. 
• Work closely with the Data Specialist to effectively document all contacts with donors, prospective donors, and special events attendees using Raiser’s Edge’s best practices; oversee processing and acknowledgement of event registrations, auction items, sponsorships, contributions, and tickets.
• Stewards relationships with the School's families, trustees, alumni, faculty, parents, and staff; Identifies and cultivates relationships with Annual Benefit co-chairs and members of the benefit committee; Engages in the life of the School by regularly participating in campus and community activities. 
• Maintains, cultivates, and solicits personal portfolio of benefit leadership prospects and donors with a $500k+ target.
• Other duties as assigned.        

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:  

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Seven years or more of experience in fundraising events management at an independent school, university, museum, or other nonprofit organization required.
• Extensive Raiser’s Edge experience required.
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to achieve cross-functional teamwork.
• Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate and lead all phases necessary in planning and executing a season of events.
• Experience managing and inspiring volunteer committees.
• Knowledge of special events trends and best practices. 
• Highly-skilled in events and fundraising systems and auction software. 
• Substantial experience coordinating large scale auctions.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and immerse themself in Viewpoint community activities

Viewpoint School is currently seeking an Executive Assistant for our Advancement Department. The Executive Assistant (EA) will join Viewpoint’s Advancement Office at an important moment of strategic growth and will be critical to the department’s effort to build a best-in-class fundraising operation. Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for External Affairs, the EA will work with a six-person team that raises more than $4 million annually and is in the process of exploring a capital campaign. The EA will play an important role in the team’s effective management of relationships with trustees, parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends who make philanthropic gifts to Viewpoint School by providing support across three essential areas: meeting, organization, and calendar management; administrative work for the Viewpoint Fund; and event support. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; enjoys being part of a collaborative, goal-driven team; and has experience working with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis. To be successful in this role, you are expected to be a true professional who will bring sharp communication skills, a strong sense of priorities, a high attention to detail, and a superb level of tact and discretion. 

Meeting Organization and Calendar Management (30%) 

• Work closely with the Chief of Staff in the Head of School’s Office to coordinate board meetings and sub committee meetings, with a focus on the coordination of the Advancement Committee. 

• Communicate frequently with trustees and donors by email and phone to arrange and confirm meetings with gift officers and school leaders. 

• Arrange internal team meetings, create agendas, and track next steps.

• Make effective use of scheduling platforms, such as Calendly. 

• Enter in Raiser’s Edge with accuracy and timeliness, correspondence and action reports from prospect visits and board meetings. 

• Make catering, restaurant, travel arrangements, and other logistical preparations as needed for prospect visits, team retreats, workshops, and the like. 

• Coordinate receipts and invoices for Accounts Payables in the Business Office.

Viewpoint Fund Administrative Support (30%) 

• Work closely with the Director of the Viewpoint Fund and the Data Specialist to support the seasonal cycle of annual appeals to the community, through: 

  • Coordinate the mail merging, printing, and mailing of recurring appeals and stewardship letters to various constituencies.  

  • Help ensure data integrity through accurate data entry related to Viewpoint Fund donations, stewardship, visits, and peer-to-peer work with volunteers. 

  • Ensure accurate constituent tracking in the database

• Provide assistance as needed in coordinating Viewpoint Fund volunteer meetings, including the preparation of materials, slide decks, and other collateral. 

Event Support (30%) 

• Assist the Director of Special Events and the Special Events Consultant on a variety of stewardship and volunteer events throughout the school year, with an emphasis on signature donor recognition events and the Annual Benefit. 

• Help track RSVPs, make phone calls to increase and confirm attendance, and record event attendance in Raiser’s Edge database. 

• Create and prepare event materials , including RSVP lists, name tags, place cards, etc. 

• Order stewardship and thank you gifts as recommended by department head(s).

Other Projects as Assigned (10%) 

• Fulfill front office reception role, greeting guests, answering phones, and tending to parent/student needs as necessary. 

• Process incoming and outgoing mail

• Track office supply inventory and order fresh supplies as needed 

Education and Work Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree 

• 2-3 years of experience in advancement or a field that requires strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of interaction with external audiences, such as client-based work. 

• Experience working in education is preferred. Understanding of the mission and purpose of independent schools is desirable. 

• Familiarity working with nonprofits preferred.

Viewpoint School in Calabasas, CA is seeking a Campus Safety Officer for a regular, full time and part-time position. Shifts include, swing shift and graveyard shift. Position may include at least a weekend shift. Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position provides a leadership role in the campus safety and protection of students, faculty, staff, and property.

The candidate should have strong work ethic, and professional presentation and a friendly yet assertive disposition. The position requires adaptability, analyzing, assessing, calculating, decision making, dependability, good judgement, reading, writing, memorizing, and multitasking.

Here are a few requirement and facts you need to know prior to applying;

• The school is located in Calabasas, CA.
• New Employees are hired through a security firm, and as a result, they do not meet the eligibility criteria for benefits.
• The shift may be 11:00 AM -7:30 PM, 2-10:30 PM, or 10:30 PM-7:00 AM and you may have to work one weekend day.
• There are approximately six mandatory work days throughout the school year, along with training and security meetings.

Viewpoint School is currently seeking a temporary Athletic Trainer from March 2024 to June 2024. The position provides direct collaboration and support to the full-time Athletic Trainers.

The Athletic Trainer position is a temporary, hourly, staff position. The duties of the athletic trainer include, but are not limited to, prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, health care administration, and professional development and responsibility as specified in the Domains of the NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. The athletic trainer serves as a liaison between physicians, coaches, athletes, and parents. The athletic trainer ensures that players participate only when physically able and that any physician instructions are understood and followed. The athletic trainer will coordinate with the Sports Medicine team and the Athletic Director to ensure staffing of the athletic training room and coverage for all required events.  

Primary Functions: 

• Exercise supervisory responsibility for student athlete safety and discretion in making meaningful safety and health decisions
• Provide first aid, injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention for students
• Act decisively and prudently in emergency and life-threatening situations 
• Provide coverage at home events and practices
• Conduct IMPACT testing, organization, and clearance for all teams
• Develop and implement injury management protocols and emergency action plans
• Provide injury reports to coaches and other school personnel and parents on injuries and status of student athletes under treatment
• Maintain all forms, reports, and medical records and treatment logs related to athletic injuries, student rehabilitation, and CIF required athletic clearance
• Provide injury reports to coaches and other school personnel on injuries and status of student athletes with severe injuries
• Acting as liaison between coaches and athletes in injury matters
• Maintain a clean, organized, and effective athletic training room
• Occasionally travel with teams to away meets, events, and competitions

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:

•  Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Athletic Training or related field Current NATA BOC Certification NPI number required
• Maintain current certification and continuing education requirements as set forth by the Athletic Trainers Board of Certification
• Maintain current certification in CPR/Emergency Cardiac Care
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, and follow through skills
• Post certification experience desired  
• Experience working with K-12 population preferred
• Experience communicating with high school level parents, administrators, and coaches
• Experience in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in Magnus Student Medical Record Database (SMR) and SportsWare (or similar record keeping programs)
