Please submit a Preschool Teacher/Director Evaluation Form. There are two ways to request and submit this form. If your child is not attending preschool, please contact us for further instructions

All you’ll need for this is the name and email address of the recipient. The recipient will receive an email notification of your request and will be able to complete and submit an electronic version of the Evaluation form. Once the form is completed and submitted, it will appear as complete in the Parent Checklist.  
2. Paper: Parents should complete the top portion of the Preschool Teacher/Director’s Evaluation form and give them to the child’s current school after December 1. These documents can be found on the right side of this page under TK/Kindergarten Application Documents (you may have to scroll up). The educator completing this form should return it to Viewpoint School by January 12, 2024.

We believe an in-person group setting provides the best opportunity for us to get to know your children, and for them to engage with our educators at Viewpoint. We hope all Transitional Kindergarten applicants will join us for a group TK admission playdate on:

This information applies to all candidates to Grades 5-9.

Viewpoint's admission process includes a test optional policy regarding the ISEE or SSAT. This is in keeping with recent shifts in higher education, as college admission offices across the country are in the process of reexamining the use of standardized testing. The policy change allows our applicants to decide for themselves whether or not taking an at-home or in-person version of either the ISEE or SSAT would provide an accurate reflection of their academic ability and potential.

Applicants to Grades 10-12: PSAT, SAT, ACT, SSAT, or ISEE
In the case of transfer student applicants (those applying to 10th, 11th, or 12th grades), Viewpoint encourages students to submit recent standardized test scores, if available. Viewpoint accepts the PSAT, PACT, SAT, ACT, ISEE, and SSAT.

We consider scores from either exam equally. Additionally, students may sit for these tests more than once if they like. They can also sit for both if they wish.

Why?  Because character matters to us.

We know that your child is much more than just test scores and grades in an application folder. Those are important, but they tell us only part of who your child is. The Character Skills Snapshot (CSS) helps us to know your child better from multiple angles beyond grades and scores.

You may be considering Viewpoint because you are seeking an education that prizes and develops not only academic excellence, but also character, values and social-emotional growth. To that end, the Snapshot provides an opportunity for us to explore the ways in which Viewpoint’s community might enrich and benefit from your child’s intellectual curiosity, teamwork, initiative, responsibility, resilience, open mindedness, and social awareness.

The Snapshot can provide our Admission Committee with a clearer picture of your child’s personality and character. It complements traditional cognitive assessments and can illuminate your child’s unique attributes to a greater degree, helping us know your child better. On the Character Skills Snapshot, there are no “wrong answers.”

How much does it cost?
The fee to take the Character Skills Snapshot is $60.

What’s involved in taking it?
Your child takes the Snapshot at home, online, at any time that’s convenient for them.  It’s about 25 minutes long. The Snapshot is accessed via a link provided to the parents upon registering.

How do we send the Snapshot report to Viewpoint? 
Within two weeks of your child taking the Snapshot, parents will receive notice that their child’s report has been posted.  Parents must then release the report to Viewpoint.

Viewpoint School is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. A small number of international students study at Viewpoint, and we are able to issue I-20s for international students. *Please note: international students requiring F-1 Visas are not eligible to apply for the TK program. 

International families interesting in applying should keep the following points in mind:

• Viewpoint is a day school with no boarding facilities, and we do not undertake to place international students in homestay programs.
• Viewpoint does not offer ESL courses. Non-native speakers of English must demonstrate excellent verbal and written English.
• We strongly prefer that students from abroad — if they are not living with their own family — reside with relatives or friends in the area who have a vested interest in their well-being.
• Family meetings and student interviews can be conducted either virtually or in person.
